Face the music

My hump, my hump, my hump, my lovely little lumps! You got to hand it to The black eyed peas – I bet the lead thinks she’s too smart for a blonde. Let me give credit where it’s due – yes, let’s get retarded was a good one but now they have become a pathetic excuse for a band. I hear it on the shuttle, on my lab-homie’s computer and then my roomie’s radio! Now the little kids in the neighborhood are singing it and they have no clue what it means! Or do they?

I love the ‘80s and ‘90s man! Every song told a story – the lyrics meant something!

So I thought I should compile a list of my favorite songs.

20 Shine on you crazy diamond – Pink Floyd
19 Stairway to heaven – Led Zeppelin
18 One - Creed
17 Wonderwall _ Oasis
16 Fear of the dark – Iron Maiden
15 Poison – Alice Copper
14 Two Steps behind – Def Leppard
13 Even flow – Pearl Jam
12 Smells like teen spirit - Nirvana
11 Eye of the tiger - Survivor
10 Love hurts - Nazareth
9 Goodbye to Romance – Ozzy Osbourne
8 The unforgiven - Metallica
7 Sweet child of mine – Guns N Roses
6 Angel - Aerosmith
5 Coming back to life – Pink Floyd
4 Hysteria – Def Leppard
3 Don’t cry – Guns N Roses
2 Enter Sandman - Metallica
1 See you on the other side – Ozzy Osbourne

What’s your favorite song?

  • When did you hear it in my computer???

  • Wow! I have SO many favorites. :)
    But if I have to narrow it down to one, I'd have to say "with or without you" by U2.

  • I have to say your top 20 should be 'mandated listening' to anybody who claims todays radio to be remotely entertaining. Maybe I would add Creep by Radiohead and Man Who Sold The World from Nirvana to your list.
    Its fun reading your blog.

  • Love each and every one of those songs! I'd add Smoke on the water, With or without you...and Break on through - although we're talking late 60's now.

  • @i-hate-girly-girls
    That's a good one - Now is Freddie Mercury the lead singer from India? Also, why do you hate girly-girls?

    @second_wind
    I enjoy reading your blog - you're welcome :)

    @superman
    You play it all the time on the speakers and subwoofers - it plays on your Yahoo station all the time cuz you have rated the band 4 stars

    @ truthfairy
    That's a good one - yeah! M3 likes that one too

    @amsy
    I just love 'Man who sold the world' - I wonder why I did not think of it then . . . I had this friend who tried real hard to play the acoustic version - he would play something that sounded like baa baa black sheep and ask us to guess which song it was - we would guess baa baa black and he would say - that's man who sold the world! he he :) Thanks amsy, I'm glas you like my blog

    @m3
    Yeah, you have some real good songs there - when I was writing this post I knew you would leave a comment which had the word 'doors' or 'floyd' in it :)

  • I think my fav song list will hav all hindi songs....the all time fav being'pehla nasha'...& 'abhi na jao chodkar'...Recently have added 1 more song to my list...'let me be ur teddy bear'..any guesses y;)...By the way ur post reminded me of sum of the weirdest lyrics of bollywood..Govinda's.."main laila laila chilaunga kurta phadke'...canya beat that..

    By Anonymous Anonymous, at 1:26 PM

  • I can beat that - "Kanaka Kanaka O kanaka baare nanna mane tanaka" - Kannada lyrics - what's wrong with people today? Can't they think?
    My favorite is Li'l John - Skeet skeet skeet muthafucker - Lyrics of Millenium generation.

    I totally agree with you about people making bad music, bad lyrics, just plain terrible.

  • I feel like I just walked into a room of the Fraternal Order of the We're in, You're not Club. Oh, well, thought I would add my two cents worth. I can't count the times I danced to Stairway to Heaven, and how many different guys I dance with. Thanks for bringing back the memories. And if she looks there she knows, if the stores are all closed, with a word she can get what she came for........ah, the memories.
