For Amma

A tear of gratitude comes flowing down
for the best mom ever in town
As I look into that face so nice
I just know, you are my angel in disguise
so many memories fill my eyes!

Amma, I owe my whole life to you
which otherwise would have been in shades of blue
I know I've always been a rebel
but you've been there for me each time I fell
and taken care of me sooo well!

You sacrificed your whole life for the family
gave your everything so selflessly
and on this special day, your day
I am honoured to say,
thanx for being there and showing me the way!

  • Yes V.C. thats touching !

People go through all sorts of emotions .. And these are a function of the time, the place and the people one keeps for company!

V.C. had probably written the 'suicide' poem also directed at the same person!

If you observe, in the company of certain folk your thoughts have a pattern different from those that you have when with some other folks.

You feel differently in a temple as compared to that in a bar, in a disco or near the ocean.

When you eat certain foods the contituents of that matter are assimilated into the body and thus creates a certain thought flow ..
What is a thought? An electrical impluse in the brain ??? Some chemical reaction ?? If so what you eat certainly would effect what you think.

Now thats food for thought or thought for food ? :)

  • Thanks y'all,
this is almost 10 years old . . .actually I dont even remember when I wrote it - I know I wrote it for Mother's day . . . and hey Messiah - your link is real cool - really liked the screensaver!

  • I'm going to go home and thank my mother today. :)

Messiah, my sentimentality and pride won't let me stop at what you say. There must be another element to thought- living, original, natural, inborn and real- even with the whole environment adding its two cents to the total.

  • Thats a Good one V.C...when ever/ how ever you wrote it I am sure, it might have made your mom proud and worth all she did for you..!

My mom --> My guardian angel!

And yeah...I saw this somewhere...If evolution really works how come mothers only have two hands? How true!

I am going to acknowledge my mom today! Your poem was a nice reminder :)

am glad you liked what I wrote . . . Yeah, Moms are the best! They keep you in vitro for 9 months when you are a fetus, then they go into labor and give birth to you, and then produce milk to give you nourishment, and mother you all their life!
