Orange

I have always enjoyed working with my hands (even though I wouldn’t call myself artsy-craftsy), so I recently decided to take up painting as a sideline activity. My buddy M3 thought I should write a poem about my paintings and put them up on my blog, so voila!

Orange is in between yellow and red
Orange marmalade is superman’s favorite spread
Orange is the title of my friend*
Orange, yellow and maroon make a nice blend

Orange is the setting sun
Orange is the color of fun
Orange is the hue of a flower’s bloom
Orange is the theme of my dining room!

* I really do have a friend who likes to be called Orange, I am not making this up just so it rhymes :)

Forever and a day

You came to me like sunbeams through the cloud
Scattering your radiance, warmth and laughter
I resisted, my loneliness wrapped in a shroud
The prospect of delight ran parallel my rafter

Blithe and light, soaked in peace, love and merry
We discovered a life, a symphony of passion
And then you said, ‘Walk with me, Cherie’
Our souls dancing the tango in repetition

With every passing year, I pray our precious love
May never wither, never ever fade away
Sunshine oscillates with the stars shining above
