Orange

I have always enjoyed working with my hands (even though I wouldn’t call myself artsy-craftsy), so I recently decided to take up painting as a sideline activity. My buddy M3 thought I should write a poem about my paintings and put them up on my blog, so voila!

Orange is in between yellow and red
Orange marmalade is superman’s favorite spread
Orange is the title of my friend*
Orange, yellow and maroon make a nice blend

Orange is the setting sun
Orange is the color of fun
Orange is the hue of a flower’s bloom
Orange is the theme of my dining room!

* I really do have a friend who likes to be called Orange, I am not making this up just so it rhymes :)

  • Newport News Shipyard, Virginia (Reuters) - Nov 11th 2011

President Hillary Clinton arrived today for the inauguration of the U.S.S. Lady Marmalade, the first of the Chérie class missile cruisers commissioned into the US Navy. The President was accompanied by a young lady of Indian origin dressed in a Versace gown (with Gucci accessories and Fendi shoes).
The young lady was surrounded by four US Navy SEALs for protection (A fifth SEAL was seen carrying and/or guarding her Louis Vuitton handbag) and is rumored to be the President and C.E.O of V.C. NanoTech Industries, the company whose brainchild the Chérie class cruiser is. The young lady is also rumored to be the youngest billionaire in the world, resulting out of multiple patents and a large Navy contract.

    Technical Specifications:
The Chérie class is a new breed of cruisers, built with radically advanced nanotechnology. Classified sources indicate that the inside of the ship is almost completely devoid of “visible” machinery. Even the normally large engine room appeared to be “almost empty” and “devoid of noise”.
Additional reports indicate that the ships large propellers have been replaced with thousands of miniature “pico” propellers all over the hull. These, sources say, will make the ship virtually undetectable to enemy submarines’ passive sonar.
Sources also indicate that most of the work normally done by enlisted sailors will now be done by miniature “femo” robots, thus reducing the ship’s complement of sailors drastically.
The ship also has another first. It is the first US Navy ship to be covered with the radically new and advanced Orange® radar absorbent paint, replacing the traditional black paint that has come to become synonymous with stealth paint technology over the years.

  • M3,
Thanks dude . . . you give me the idea and I’ll give you the manpower.

    Fosix,
Condo in Orange County it is! Sometimes moral support is all it takes to get a person going.

    Direkishore,
Poetry and painting! Don’t they go well? It’s like tequila and lime juice. . . . and you get my favorite drink – Margarita!

    Reuters Time Traveler,
Wow that was fun to read! Very well written . . . who wrote that? You don’t want credit for your creativity? Will the editor of Reuters Time Traveler please come forward? :)
