Turned away
He put me on a pedestal, was so tender and gentle
I hurt him, but he just wiped his tears and smiled
I said he was a distraction uncalled for, shattered pieces
Of his heart on the floor, he picked up one by one
And I turned away
He confessed the feelings he held within, that shy smile
That warm face, wanting to be loved so badly
I pretended I didn’t care, made him twinge
His body, spirit and soul broken beyond repair
And I turned away
Now I walk along a lonely street, darkness looms
Wishing I could turn back time, remorse takes over
There is a vacuum in my heart, only he can fill
Crying for yesterday, begging for another chance
And he turned away.
